How to navigate a sliding scale…

Our school is grounded in the belief that capitalism is a system of oppression that impacts our capacity to access care. While we acknowledge that we are all harmed by the scarcity mentality perpetuated under capitalism, we also recognize that everyone carries varying degrees of privilege. We offer a sliding scale to help offset the inequity of living under an oppressive cis-hetero-patriarchy.

Sliding scales only work when those who are able pay toward the top of the scale. We thank you in advance for your honesty and integrity in determining where you fall on the scale. The practice of choosing an appropriate rate is both a mindfulness and justice-seeking practice.

For those of you with inherited wealth and class privilege, please consider paying at the high end of the scale.

For those who are struggling to make ends meet due to daily, systematic, and inherited impacts of racism, transphobia, ableism, classism, and other oppressions, you are invited to pay at the lower end of the scale.
